You may remember when we used to do Throwback Reviews. What's that? You don't? Of course you don't. That was a whole four years ago and this is the internet. Nomad definitely doesn't remember because it was during his Goth phase when he thought everything was lame, to include Star Wars collecting. But he liked it ironically. Because it was so lame. You will have to trust me that it was totally a thing. We started them on Thursdays as part of that Throwback Thursday thing the kids were into, but they were popular, so it became a daily feature until I burned out and joined nomad on the Gothside.
We're going to bring back this style of review starting tomorrow afternoon, and as time allows going forward. The intent will be different from the morning reviews. The morning photo galleries will focus on mostly modern figures, or older figures that are still serve as the "best option" for that specific character. The morning galleries will continue to include diorama photos if applicable. So nothing is changing in the AM, but we will occasionally be adding a second review in the afternoon. The purpose of these reviews is different. It will mostly feature older obsolete figures as a way to flesh out our figure database. They won't have as many photos as our morning galleries simply because they don't warrant them, and it's doubtful they will include diorama photos.
The final difference in these afternoon gallery reviews is that the review itself won't focus heavily on the figure. Since they're mostly older and often obsolete, reviewing the figure itself would be largely pointless. Instead we'll spend more time focusing on the story of the collecting line. The history, if you will. I'm becoming an old man and I like to play games of "remember when." This will allow me to indulge that urge for the ones I write. Nomad has no memory, so the ones he writes should be fun. We hope you enjoy this.
