As we near the end of Day 5, we’ve hit an excellent milestone. 5000 signatures! Up to this point, it’s been a strong push within the echo chamber of the websites and social media circles of most hardcore 3.75” collectors. Chris and I had a feeling that 5000 was going to be achievable relatively easily among those of us that actively frequent these online communities. We suspect (based on logic, but no hard data) that this is just a fraction of the consumer base that has the interest and disposable income to buy MORE TVC!
If 5000 was our informal goal with minimal outreach, we must understand that every signature above and beyond this milestone has much more meaning. It should indicate we are reaching people that have been the most difficult for us to engage: the collectors and consumers with whom we don’t have regular contact via websites and social media. Capturing their numbers is way more important to the success of the overall campaign.
So, again, YOU must continue to share this story of the petition everywhere and often. YOU must get the information outside of our echo chamber. Share this all over your social media, even if you normally don’t discuss Star Wars collecting with your followers, friends, and family. Put a campaign sign on your front lawn! Put a bumper sticker on your car! Run through the streets and shout it out (while taking necessary COVID precautions in accordance with the orders of your local municipality, of course). We’re going to need this to reach the more casual collectors and buyers that don’t check these sites daily. That’s how the Barge succeeded, and that’s how this will succeed.
