Our world is changing right before our eyes. Hopefully this is an opportunity to discuss, learn, and participate to make the world a better place. There’s a lot going on (way more than usual) that is much more important than any hobby. But hobbies exist as a diversion. So if you are able to take a moment out of your day to think about some of the less important things in life, here’s a bit of good news regarding the petition for Hasbro to make more NEW 3.75" Star Wars Vintage Collection figures per year
As we near the close of day 17 of the campaign, we've reached another major milestone. Thanks to the efforts of the various collecting sites and social media outlets across the internet, we've gathered 7500 signatures. That's a significant number. You may not think it is, but please take our word for it, this is going to achieve the intended result - to be noticed by Hasbro.
These signatures have been gathered by a mostly grass roots effort of TVC fans around the world, using the hashtags #FightForTVC, #BackTVC, and #Save375 repeatedly and often. "Word of mouth" has gotten us to this point. As far as we can tell, there has been no real evidence that word of the petition's existence has spread outside the collector bubble. No celebrities, no large mainstream web sites, and no social media influencers took part in the campaign. It was all simply a community wide effort to get hardcore TVC fans to stand up and be counted.
We have already said that we believed that 5000 was our informal goal with minimal outreach, and we obviously blew that away. The petition is still open for a little while longer, so we're not quite done yet. If you're reading this, don't stop spreading the word and keep using those hashtags in all your Star Wars social media posts, and be sure to let people know where to find the petition.
