It feels like every time there has been a Hasbro Star Wars reveal recently, be it Vintage Collection or Black Series, that a pre-order has followed later that same day.
We have received official confirmation from Litzky PR that the pre-orders will be taking place much further down the road:
Both of these figures will be available to purchase later this Fall.
This can't be a coincidence. You may remember that we posted THIS ARTICLE where we called for Hasbro to end the trickle announcement on case assortments. Our reasoning is that it places undue burden on collectors for pre-ordering. Fans, who ordered by the case, were being asked to do so blindly, and some flat out refused. Others who ordered figures individually were not able to take advantage of free shipping offers that might be available if all of the figures were available to pre-order at once.
Again, this can't be a coincidence. It's my theory that Hasbro has listened to us, and they are going to wait until the entire assortment is revealed before opening up the pre-orders. In my opinion, the "fall" (read: post June) horizon for the pre-orders lends considerable credence to my theory. If I am right, this is GREAT news, and it proves that Hasbro does listen to its customers, and is willing to pivot if possible. Even without the issues from trickling out the pre-orders described above, having pre-orders extending out for months also has drawbacks. I personally just had to change the payment method on dozens of pre-orders because my credit card had expired in the meantime. It was a tedious process.
