The carded shot of the upcoming Helder Spinoza card was revealed yesterday by our friends at Star Wars Figuren. The result is art in more ways that one. First of all, it just looks great, and the pair of E-11 stocks at the bottom of the frame make the filmout instantly recognizable:

I don't envy the graphic artist who had to digitally remove the Relby-k23 blaster pistol obscuring Spinoza's face, but the end result is perfect. I can't wait to add this to my carded collection. It's instantly going to earn a place of honor in my collection, in part because we've literally been waiting 27 years for the first modern Spinoza, but this is art in another sense.
This clarifies what the vision of the Vintage Collection should be. It's not supposed to be a reproduction line. That's Retro Collection. It's supposed to be a continuation of the vintage Kenner line where the product continues to get better and more accurate over time. That includes the card art. As we recently documented, the vintage Kenner card is inaccurate as it feature the distinct character Pedar Solardo:

I only wish Hasbro had realized this was the correct approach when they released the VC190 - Paploo figure because in that case they mimicked the mistake of the vintage Kenner card which actually depicts Romba. BOO! Kenner mistakes should be fixed just like upcoming "Sensorscope" R2-DR should actually come with a sensorsope and not a periscope. Oh well. You can't win them all. Kudos to Hasbro for nailing this Helder Spinoza.
Star Wars Figuren has also revealed the cards for that (not) "Sensorscope" R2-D2 and Isdam Edian.
