There are a couple of things that recently caught my eye with respect to the Vintage Collection. Nothing is groundbreaking. The first thing is a word of caution and the second is something I think is neat, but 99% of you will think is lame.
It can no longer be preordered directly from Amazon likely indicating that they have sold through their preorder allotment. The figure is one per case, but that doesn't really matter anymore in the "solid case" era. There's a catch though. We know that the Book of Boba Fett based Luke has been pipelined, and I'm assuming it will be re-using the lower body from the Imperial Light Cruiser Luke. This means the tooling will no longer be available to make more of those Imperial Light Cruiser Luke figures. Do you see where I'm going? Given that it's such a scene specific Luke, it's hard to image Hasbro pivoting back to it in the future. In other words, don't sleep on it.
I feel bad that some readers said they were going to skip this Luke based on my review. My intent wasn't to get people to skip it, but rather to set expectations and provide an honest critique. On our scale, a 7 out of 10 is still a strong score. If you're on the fence, I would err on the side of picking it up. So you don't think I'm trying to drum up interest just to get some fat commissions, I'm first going to provide you the non-monetized Hasbro Pulse link, where it's in stock:
Next up, someone graded one of the troop builder packs:

That actually sold on Ebay for $166 (remember you have to scroll down on sold listings to see the item). I love this. I know most of you reading this think it's super lame, and I get it. It's barely above grading white mailer boxes, but there's a flip side. I love preserving the history of the line. Sadly, I think we've permanently lost some of that history. For example, I'm fairly certain we no longer know what all the TVC 1.0 case assortments and ratios are anymore, especially when you get into the UGH cases. So that's why the archivist in me appreciates slabbing the troop builder packs, which is packaging that's destined to end up in landfills and recycling centers. It's one little bit of our history that will stay preserved.
