For the goings on at San Diego Comic Con, there is one thing over which we do not have to speculate. We know for certain that the next HasLab will be launched tomorrow during the Star Wars brand team presentation (5PM ET). While we won't discuss the specifics here until they are officially official, I'm sure you're all aware of what it will be. The details have long been leaked. So, will you be backing? I have to tell you that I'm a bit nervous. If the rumors are true, I feel like Hasbro missed the ideal price point by $100. All I will say is that a lot people have been very vocal about wanting this item. You'd better put your money where your mouth is.
Next up, if you've been following the latest hobby news yesterday, you know that a card back was making the rounds showing off two heretofore unannounced (but previously rumored) figures. The cross-sell strikes again! Since this information is so public, I'm going to risk the wrath of Hasbro by discussing them. They are Morgan Elsbeth and the HK-87 Assassin Droid. Morgan Elsbeth is the next guaranteed peg warmer. Mark it down. I'm happy to get a figure of her, but the general figure buying public is going to avoid her like she's Vel Sartha reincarnated. Yet again, tooling dollars that could have gone to an Episode IV Luke are getting allocated to figure that will be getting marked down almost immediately. The HK-87 is welcome news. My Ahsoka (Corvus) figure will finally have something to fight (other than Din Djaren)!
I'm worried that those premature reveals might take a little steam out of the presentation. Beyond that, I expect to see the actual product of the previous pipeline reveals. Thrawn is also on the cross-sell of that aforementioned card back, so I'm fairly confident we'll be seeing that figure. Beyond that, I'm hoping we get to see Krenic, Revan, Pre Vizsla, and the Vader/Obi-Wan 2-pack. If all of those get revealed, there will be a lot of preordering to do on Saturday. Along those lines, I feel like were pretty far out into the future between pipeline and product reveals. I don't know how much further into the future Hasbro can realistically get, so I'm not expecting any surprises, but I do have to say another vehicle would be neat.
