I promise you that requesting a repack of a figure that can still be pre-ordered on Entertainment Earth (sponsored) is not meant to be a joke, or some sort of edgy commentary. There is legitimate point I'm trying to make with this request, and it is in direct response to yesterday's review of the Fan Channel TIE Fighter Pilot repack. As we've stated many times, we actually support the concept of Fan Channel and appreciate its intended goal. Hasbro has repeatedly said that the Fan Channel repacks are intended for new collectors. Guess what figure new collectors need access to perhaps more than any other: Stormtroopers.

Thanks to a 10 year hiatus in Star Wars action figures, we were all new collectors in 1995 when "Power of the Force 2" launched. In those early days of the modern line, I can speak first hand how frustrated I was that I had four TIE Fighter Pilots and only one Stormtrooper. It made no sense that the "Army Builder di tutti i Army Builders" was less accessible than a pilot figure. Well these new fans today find themselves in that exact same position. They can now easily acquire a TIE Fighter Pilot, but will have to resort to premium prices on the secondary market for a Stormtrooper figure. Not having easy access to a Stormtrooper figure will alienate the new collectors the line is trying to attract.

Since "Fan Channel" seems to have a much easier path into brick and mortar and other outlets, perhaps the VC140 - Stormtrooper should be moved to that program. Also, as I and many members of the hobby have said, the fact that both Walmart and Target are not ordering solid cases of the VC140 - Stormtrooper is mind boggling. Many of us would never leave one of those stores without at least one in tow.
