TGIF, everyone. Well, everyone on this side of the international date line. I have no idea what day it is in Oz or Narnia. To those readers I say happy Gerbitzday, 39 of Sumtumber. Please don't sick your divergently evolved marsupials on us. Our possums are gentle creatures and will be easily overwhelmed. Okay, enough of the timezone talk unless you want me to rant about how late the Super Bowl is on just to satisfy the west coast. Speaking of the Super Bowl, this will be the longest week for Bengals fans and the Rams fan. Hopefully some Vintage Collection talk will help kill the time, so let's get to it:

  • I'm really upset that I can't take photographs right now. I really want to tell you how much I love the new Lobot and how great the rocker ankles are on the Maldo Kreis Manadlorian. I want the latter ported over to a generic Season 2 Mandalorian ASAP preferably with the beskar spear and a soft goods cape. I don't even care if it has to some in the deluxe line. The $20.99 one. Not the $26.49 version. I know some of you are wincing at that, but soft goods are pricey, and this is likely an already costly figure. I'm a little peeved that Hasbro went the pre-paint route and gave us the Maldo Kreis version first. I can't stand getting the minor version before the more displayable generic version. I have to assume Hasbro thinks collectors won't buy the one-off if the generic version comes out first. Season 2 Mando. Get on it.

  • Did you hear? The HasLab Razor Crests are about to ship. It makes me wonder how this will play out. We went two years between Vintage Collection HasLabs. We just had the unsuccessful Black Series Rancor campaign, which was a year after that Crest campaign. Do we have to wait another year for a Vintage Collection HasLab? Two years? I don't want to wait. I hope the Black Series Rancor didn't restart the clock until the next Star Wars campaign. I feel the customer bases for TVC and TBS are as distinct as the customer bases for TVC and Transformers. Sure there is some overlap, but you can clearly see the two distinct circles on the Venn diagram.

  • Speaking of TBS, I really want that recently announced Tython Fett to come to the Vintage Collection. I'm very happy we have the Book of Boba Fett and Morak versions confirmed, but that Tython episode was Fett unleashed (and was directed by Robert Rodriguez, which should give all you naysayers assurance that he will stick the landing for Chapter 7). Moreover, and most importantly for the world building scale, we have or will soon have many of the figures Fett interacts with in that episode. Of course that mostly amounts to Stormtroopers. Then we'll only need the desert nomad version and our Fett collections will be complete. Well, they won't be truly completed until we get a definitive update to Episode V Fett. And I wouldn't mind a pre-pro Fett. That's a lot of Fetts.

Those are my thoughts for now on our favorite scale and action figure line. I'm sure I'll have some more things to chat about after next Wednesday's livestream.
