Considering that the title of Grand Moff is political and not military, there has never been a named Imperial Officer in the Vintage Collection. In fact, there was only one in the vintage Kenner lineup, the odd Sears-Canada General Veers. Meanwhile, the Black Series is getting blasted with Imperial Officers. General Veers and Admiral Piett have already been released, and the recently announced Vice Admiral Rampart from The Bad Batch is due to ship this September. Meanwhile, Vintage Collection fans are forced to kick rocks.
We've been hoping that Hasbro increases the new tooling budget for the Vintage Collection, but budget stretching could also help increase the volume of figures. A good Imperial Officer buck could go a long way to increasing the figures we get in a year. It's true that the rank badges would vary, but I trust Hasbro to figure out a way to make that modular so the figures could share a common upper torso. Additionally, there are ways to vary heights using the same tooling (see the recent Luke Stormtrooper figure).
We could use updates to all of the Death Star officers, Admiral Ozzel, and Captain Needa, but that's not where I'd start. As with The Black Series, I would incorporate new media as the anchor of a three-pack. I would kill for a set of Vice Admiral Rampart, Admiral Piett and General Veers.
