There is a lot to like here, one thing not to like, and a growing concern. What I say there's a lot to like, part of that is because the figure comes with a lot. The accessory load out is impressive. It comes with not one, but two Lolas (Loli?), a lit lightsaber, a hit, blaster and a soft goods robe which appears drape perfectly. Hasbro really zeroed in on soft goods with the VC175 - Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure, and this appears to be another step in a positive direction. Beyond that, this Obi-Wan sports a great likeness, a working holster and great articulation, but...
These upper torso joint on shirted characters need to come to and end. It's too jarring and serves to break the fantasy. In this case, it makes Obi-Wan look like he's wearing a tube top. He's the airheaded roommate, Janet is the serious one, and let's all hope Mr. Roper doesn't find out they're sharing an apartment with Jack Tripper. The Black Series version of this exact same figure has no such pectoral joint, and it looks so much better aesthetically.
Speaking of that Black Series Obi-Wan, it has long been sold out on Hasbro Pulse, and the Vintage Collection version isn't even close to being sold out despite the fact that the inventory levels for both were identical (you'll have to trust me on that). The Black Series version is performing circles around its TVC counterpart. This concerns me greatly. We, as a community, keep asking for more new tooling from new media, but we're not supporting the ones Hasbro is giving us. We can't ask for desert when we haven't finished dinner.
