Power of the Force "2" (POTF2) figures are objectively terrible. Saying something is "POTF2 bad" is a pejorative in the community to describe figures of abysmal quality. Under-articulated. Overly bulky. Ridiculous action poses. It was quite a scene, man. For the most part, main line figures from the era have only limited collectibility. A few landmark figures, such as 1998's Darth Vader (with Removable Helmet) might have a smidge of collecting heat, but for the most part, it's bupkis. However, there are some special figures that still draw interest. I don't currently own any of them, but I will. Oh, I will.
The first one is the Philadelphia Toy Expo Boba Fett (see full sized image below). I don't even know what the Philadelphia Toy Expo is. I heard about it through the community at the time, but I wouldn't be able to tell it from the Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con if my life depended on it. Each year they would have a special signed action figure exclusive. Toy Expo essentially operated as a POTF2 value-added reseller. These figures were the Yenko Camaros of the Star Wars line. In addition to the signature, there was a custom hologram sticker of the actor that was an exact overlay of the standard POTF2 inset photo, and a numbered Toy Expo sticker on the bubble. The Toy Expo figures are very professionally done. There is nothing cheap or gratuitous about them.
In addition to the Jeremey Bullock signed Boba Fett featured here, there was also a Kenny Baker signed R2 figure, a Michael Carter signed Bib Fortuna, and an Oola & Salacious Crumb box set signed by Femi Taylor and Mark Dodson. There may be more. These Toy Expo figures are not well documented, at least not in the first two pages of Google search results. You want I should read three pages of search results? You're crazy. I'm pretty sure that anything past page two in Google sucks you into an alternate dimension. I can't confirm that because, like 99% of humanity, I've never been to page three. In fact, I feel dirty just going to page two.
Anyway, I will someday own this Toy Expo Boba Fett. I was bidding on the one in the image below, but I got drooped off on the 8th floor on the way to the penthouse. It went for $141.50.
