My Most Wanted Non-Action Figure Star Wars Collectibles

Even though my Star Wars collection is 99.9% made up of toys, man cannot live on action figures alone. There are three non-toy items that I would love to someday own.

Marvel Star Wars #1

Marvel Star Wars 1

Like many of us, I also collect comic books, so owning 1977's Star Wars #1 is a dream of mine. That cover is rapidly becoming one of the iconic covers in the history of comics to the point that it is even sold as a poster. I would want a CGC 9.8 white pages copy like the one pictured above. The current going rate for such a copy would have netted your a pair of Chevy Vegas in 1971, so, as with all items on this list, it will take some saving to make this a possibility.

Star Wars "Happy Birthday" One Sheet

Happy Birthday one sheet

I would love to own a theatrical one sheet for one of the Original Trilogy initial releases. For many collectors, the holy grail one sheet would be the "Revenge of the Jedi" one, but not for me. The style "E" (a.k.a. Happy Birthday) one sheet is the one for me because it intersects with my primary hobby via 11 of the original 12 action figures ringing the birthday cake. Propstore Auction provides the following description:

A "Happy Birthday" one-sheet made for the promotion of George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope. The "Happy Birthday" one-sheet, unofficially known as the "Style "E"" variant, was designed by Tony Seininger with photography by Weldon Anderson of a cake made by Cake and Art of West Hollywood to cross-promote the film's one-year release anniversary and Kenner's 3¾" Star Wars action figure line. Less than 300 original posters in this style are known to have been produced by 20th Century Fox.

Though I question it, my father always insisted we didn't see Star Wars until 1978. If he's right, this might have been the actual one sheet hanging in the theater for my first viewing.

Sealed Xbox copy of Knights of the Old Republic

KOTOR

Though there are assuredly more days behind me than are ahead of me, I often say that I wouldn't trade places with someone younger. Not only did I get to experience the Original Trilogy as it was released, but I was also there for the emergence of video games. From a nostalgia stand point, video games are equally important to me as Star Wars. I actually regret not being a video game collector, but it's too late for me to jump into that game, but I would like to add one piece. Knight of the Old Republic is my favorite Star Wars video game of all time. I would love to own a sealed and graded Xbox copy to preserve that memory. Specifically, I'd want the original black label release, but quickly checking some of the prices indicates that this one will probably never become a reality for me.

Happy Star Wars Day everyone. Are there any non-action figure holy grails in your Star Wars want list? If so, let us know below.
