Last Figure Standing 2024 is in full swing. We're in the first phase where we gather your nominations. You can submit your top 10 most wanted Vintage Collection figures HERE. We really hope you take the time to do so. This is one of the best ways to make your voice heard to Hasbro. I can promise you that they will look at the results because of the data visualization dashboard that John Miko will provide at the end. It makes the data easily consumable and accessible, with numerous drill down options. In my experience, this is the type of thing that decision makers eat up. Again, if you want to be heard, submit! Despite what some online trolls say, we don't play games with this. Your voice is all that matters.
Okay, enough stumping. Let's get to what I really want to talk about today. 2024 has been very kind to my 10 most wanted list from last year. Here's what I submitted:

Out of my top 10, Luke (Episode IV), Han (Episode IV), Ben (Episode IV), Baylan Skoll and the Tonnika Sisters have all been either pipelined or revealed. I agonized over that list last year. I revised it several times. It felt like I was making sacrifices keeping it to 10. I foolishly thought that having five spots freed up would make this year a breeze, but it was far from that. In fact, I even had to drop Obi-Wan Kenobi (Episode I) from last year. WHAT THE HECK! So what happened?
First, I will say that Bepsin Luke and Episode V Boba Fett have always been hovering around my top 10, so those were just normal promotions once the space freed up. Luke might have jumped the stack a little bit because I want a companion piece for the outstanding VC280 - Darth Vader (Death Star II) which I used in my Episode V displays. But that still leaves three spots to play with. So how did Ep 1 Obi-Wan fall at least four places (and it's actually more)?
I saw Arleil Schous
Arleil Schous has always been on my "big board" but he's never even craked my Top 25 for March Madness, so how the heck is he now in the top 10? Well, this isn't the first time my interest went from lukewarm to white hot after seeing a figure. I knew I wanted an Ahsoka from The Mandalorian when she made her appearance in Season 2, but she never would have cracked any of my top x lists. But then the second I saw the VC222 - Ahsola Tano (Corvus) figure with it's incredible likeness, I pressed the order button with the same ferocity that Milhouse upvotes Speedo Guys. The same thing happened here. I will not be denied. As the Kiwi Man suggested, pack him in with an 9000 Z001 landspeeder, which we need for our Cantinas.
The Cantina happened
Okay, this might seem like it should go with the above entry, but it doesn't. I've been a fan of EV-9D9 since 1983 before I even knew her name. I consider it a sin that we've only gotten one release of her in the modern line TWENTY STINKING SEVEN YEARS AGO! And I'm not even convinced that figure wasn't reusing some of the 1985 tooling. But with so many mains in desperate need of update, it was hard to prioritize her. Not so any longer. We're getting a Cantina, and she helmed the bar in The Mandalorian. Plus, we didn't have a single droid in the top 50 last year, and there's something basically wrong about that. Let's fix that this year. Speaking of droids...
C-3PO was an omission last year
I should have had 3PO on my list last year. Bad on me for not doing that. The need for an updated C3 series sculpt is getting white hot. It's not just because we desperately need a definitive C-3PO. C3 series protocol droids are one of the few things that span almost every single on-screen era. From Episode I through IX, you'll find them, and in most D+ series. Sometimes fans don't push for something if they consider it to be in Hasbro's self interest. The assumption is that such things are going to happen as a matter of course, so why waste our efforts campaigning. I think that was the case with the mains until we got tired of waiting. Well, I'm tired of waiting for C-3PO.
Darth Revan happened
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. That new Darth Revan without a new Darth Malak is as annoying as Hunter without his crew mates.
So that's why I think this process is fun. It's because my want lists are always in motion depending on the directions of Hasbro and/or the media. I assume a lot of fans are like me in this regard and it must make it challenging for Hasbro. Here's what's crazy. I said that Ep 1 Obes fell more than four places. Ackmena would have been my number 11, also because of the Cantina (and I don't care that that wasn't the same cantina), and Episode I Anakin would have been my number 12 (despite what I said on the livestream) because the TBS one makes me spitting mad that we don't have a definitive version.
