One of our favorite permanent features here at Bantha Skull is Missing in Action Figure (MIAF). It is a growing and evolving list of characters from key scenes/set pieces that have been neglected by Hasbro. We've grouped these figures into films and categories, with the goal of creating a go-to resource for unmade characters for a specific subset. We've recently introduced a new feature, Scene It, which seeks to provide the recipe for the existing figures and toys necessary to make a the best display to replicate iconic scenes from across the entire saga. Although there was a long and bitter battle over this decision behind the scenes, we have agreed to remove characters from MIAF that were previously included because their corresponding figures were woefully out of date and in dire need of upgrading. It may have seemed counterintuitive to have included existing figures in a list of missing characters, and you'd be very correct to feel that way.
(Editor's Note: Upon MIAF's launch, we considered some figures "effectively missing" due to sculpts that were so dated as to make them unfit for display. The recent site upgrades have rendered the need for this concept obsolete.)
As we now have Scene It, which specifically addresses figures that need upgrades, the change was even more necessary.
For example, you will no longer find characters like Barada and Pote Snitkin in the Unproduced Skiff Guards / Sail Barge Combatants MIAF. Why? Because they were produced, obviously! Makes sense, right? You think the figures are terrible and in need of a modern update? So do we. That's why this is addressed (and primed for debate) in Scene It: Second Skiff.
As always, we appreciate any feedback you may have to improve our features or your experience at Bantha Skull!
