Scene It
Second Skiff

Description:

While the heroes were being taken to the Sarlacc Pit on what we call the Prisoner Skiff, there was a second skiff, loaded with armed guards, that circled the pit, providing security for the execution.

Notes:
1.  Brock Starsher looks like a swashbucking adventurer as he proudly poses on the bow of the second skiff.
2.  As the prisoner skiff moves into position above the sarlacc pit, the second skiff zooms past as it guards the perimeter of the gathering.
3.  After all hell breaks loose, the second skiff has closed the gap and begins firing on the prisoner skiff. It's like poking the bear, as Luke suddenly becomes laser-focused on this new threat, and makes a Jedi leap from one skiff to the other.
4.  Looks like there's room for, I don't know, maybe 4 more figures on that skiff.
5.  As Luke begins to slice through the 8 guards on the second skiff, Boba Fett takes aim, but just as he did in Episode IV, Han saves Luke at the last second.

Action Figures/Items Used:
The following figures were used in the above photos. These figures represent what the Bantha Skull staff considers as the best version of the respective characters. Click through on the following entries to go to that figure's full gallery. If that figure was part of a multi-pack, you will be brought to the gallery for just that figure. From there you can click through to the parent set.

Notes:
[Editor's note: This Scene It entry was updated on 11/28/20, to reflect new figures and vehicles released since the initial publication on 3/25/2019.

  • Pote Snitkin also dates back to 1999, and is in need of an update. The removable shmata allows you to place a second figure of him at Jabba's palace.

  • Nitko (Skiff Guard) went unnamed on his TVC card. The name "Lathe" has not yet been brought forward from Legends

  • Barada was first produced by Kenner as part of the 1984 POTF line. However, the likeness of the figure more closely matched that of Kithaba. Barada's sculpt dates to 1999. It's time Hasbro updated this guy.

  • Hasbro re-released TBS #27 Jabba's Skiff guard as "Brock Starsher" in this VC 3-pack, finally giving him his proper name. This figure is very slightly superior to the TBS version due to the coloring of the neck. It is otherwise identical. Unlike the aforementioned Lathe, Brock Starsher's name has bee re-canonized.

  • The two skiffs are essentially identical as they share the same sculpt. However, the 2000 version does have better paint apps, as compared to the hastily painted 2008 version. New skiffs are on the way very shortly, which should allow us to retire these.

  • The Sarlacc was a decent effort, although it seems with all the love being given to this scene, Hasbro might take another stab. A re-release of this one in a different format would probably still satisfy a lot of collectors.

  • The Khetanna is an old sculpt from 2019 and is in dire need of an upd.....HA!
