I love the LEGO video games. I own several of them, and even spent a fortune on Dimensions, but I will be the first to tell you that they are kitschy and quirky. While the games (or the LEGO television shows) don't satirize the subject as much as something like Robot Chicken of Family Guy, no one would confuse them as serious or on the level. But the other day the video, "Building the Galaxy" was released for the game:
I'm sure there will be the usual LEGO comedic breaks, but this one just feels different. The visuals are stunning. While I'm not the world's biggest Rise of Skywalker fan, I can't wait to play the Pasaana levels. Of course, getting to chew up the same turf that 3PO and R2 did approaching Jabba's Palace is going to be a dream come true. I hope the game is truly open world and I can pause there and look up edifice. I'm sure I will get the same experience in Docking Bay 94, Cloud City and in the Death Star.
The game drops on April 5th. You can preorder on Amazon HERE. I didn't monetize that link because I didn't want to give the impression that the point of this article was for commissioned sales. My excitement for this game is genuine.
