Hey, do you want to know why you didn't get any content this weekend, in addition to the holiday? It's because I was unhealthily plunked on my couch obsessively trying to inch my way toward 100% completion in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This is despite it being one of the most nerve-wrackingly buggy games I've played in a long time. Nothing like completing a long challenge to unlock a character only to have the game fail to advance and become unresponsive, but I digress. One of those unlocks is a two-fer. You get both Zuckuss and his and 4-LOM's ship, the Mist Hunter, with one challenge. Not too shabby.
I found this curious. As near as I can tell every other unlockable ship has either appeared on-screen or is an in-game joke. I think the Mist Hunter is the only off-screen vehicle in the game, despite the fact that the other Episode V bounty hunters are also playable. So we have Dengar, Bossk, and IG-88, but no Punishing One, Hound's Tooth, or IG-2000 (Correction: the IG-2000 is in the game). Just like the Mist Hunter, all three ships are canonical, courtesy of recent comic books as well as The Clone Wars for the Hound's Tooth. It's odd that only the ship of 4-LOM and Zuckuss made it into the game, unless...
WARNING: Possible spoilers for new media may follow. If you want to go in clean, turn back now. I will even give you an image break to make sure that you don't accidentally see a spoiler. Proceed past this image at your own risk.
You may remember that we recently posted THIS RUMOR REPORT that 4-LOM is set to appear in the upcoming Obi-Wan series. Could this be what prompted the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga designers to include this somewhat obscure vehicle, and just this obscure vehicle. It's not a lot to go on, but I find the Mist Hunter's inclusion in the game truly curious.
