Sometimes when a team is too dominant in sports, it affects the ratings of the championship. People tune in for a competition and not a coronation. Perhaps that's what happened in this year's Last Figure Standing, as the votes cast in the finals were down from the previous two years. Nevertheless, Luthen Rael dominated from wire to wire gathering the most nominations during the submission phase and pulverized his opponents in all four voting rounds. If you've been following the previous results, it seemed like the finals would be a forgone conclusion, and that turned out to be true. In the end, Luthen crushed last year's champion, Arleil Schous, 570 votes to 414.
As we've promised, now that the voting is over, we can reveal more of the data. Once again, John Miko put together an incredible Tableau dashboard. This comprises every single character that got at least ten votes. There are 237 in total. You will notice that Luthen got more nominations than any other character in Last Figure Standing history at 351. Last year, Arleil got 309 nominations, and in 2023, Baylan got 290.
The dashboard works better on desktop than it does on mobile, so you will get the most out of it on a laptop or PC. The ways you can slice the data on this dashboard are legion. John went all out. You can use the filters across the top, or you can click on either the demographic chart to the right, or the source breakdowns at the bottom (click again to dismiss). I encourage you to spend some time with this. It's amazing. You can even toggle to the 2024 data now. Sweet!
