The voting in round one this year was crazy. During the week, the trio of Klaya Marki, Sim Aloo, and Jedi Arrest Palpatine kept swapping in and out of the sixth spot. Because of this volatility, I knew it was anyone's game heading into the last day of voting, and I was right. Kleya led a furious comeback to overtake Sim Aloo in the waning hours of the round. I wish I could say the same about round two, but I can't. The top four pretty much declared themselves on the first day of voting, and it's held all week. As of the time of this writing, we have 1,185 votes and the fourth place figure currently maintains a 48 vote lead over fifth place. If you haven't voted yet:
Forty eight votes is a pretty substantial lead, but it's not entirely unsurmountable. In round one, we saw over a thirty vote swing on the final day. The fifth place figure would need about a 50% bigger swing to mount the comeback, so it would be a big lift. If you have a favorite figure in this round, make sure you campaign for it today on the socials. You don't want to wake up on Friday morning and find out it just missed the cut. Plus, remember the old adage: you can't complain if you don't vote. Even if your vote doesn't change the results, it helps portray the most accurate picture for Hasbro.
I feel this year's results don't allow us to prove the theory of Last Figure Standing, which is that as figures from like sources get voted out, those votes would then switch to the other figures from that same source in subsequent rounds. It proved itself in the first two years, which is why the Tonnika Sisters overtook Baylan Skoll, who absolutely dominated the early rounds of 2023. That works when there is a wide variety of sources amongst the candidates. This year we don't have that. In the top six, there's two OT characters, two Rogue One characters and two Andor characters. Andor and Rogue One really form a complete story, and that story is OT-adjacent. So there is a lot of sameness in the top six.
As mentioned above, the results of this round will be announced here, and on all our outlets and socials. This is the last round that will not have a livestream. Those livestreams will resume for Round Three and the Finals on November 8th and 15h respectively. We're nearing the end, so don't forget to:
