LFS 2024 Top 4

We're back to our normal Saturday - Wednesday cycle for Last Figure Standing, so the voting will close at 11:59 PM ET tonight. So don't think you have the extra day this week, because you don't. Get those votes in today before it's too late. The votes naturally cool off as these type of events progress as people tend to lose interest if their favorite gets bumped off. The flip side is that it makes each individual vote more heavily weighted. So your opportunity to have an impact is greater.

If you're passionate for any of the remaining six, don't be afraid to do some last minute campaigning. Keep in mind that campaigning should be positive. Advocate for your favorite. There's no need to drag the other candidates in the process. As with last week, everything is still up for grabs even on this last day of voting, but it's not quite as close round 1 where the Snowtrooper was amazingly eliminated by only two votes. I feel bad for any Snowtrooper fan who decided to be spectator last round only to have it miss the cut. It only takes a second to vote, and it's free. There's no argument to made against getting involved to make sure your voice is hear in this poll.

Lastly, don't think that just because Arleil got the most votes last week means that he's going to coast to the finals. Look at what happened last year:

As you can see, Baylan crushed it in round one with 1,083 votes. Then in round two, he fell back to the pack with 819 votes. Then, amazingly, he came in dead last in round 3 and was eliminated. As you know, you get to pick fewer characters to advance in each round. When fans had to really scrutinize how to award their dwindling votes, I think "they're going to make this anyway" mechanics started to kick in. As Baylan was a primary antagonist for a new Disney property, which tend to get a majority of the new tooling dollars, I suspect voters thought he was a safe bet to be made. Thus they allocated their votes to figure they thought needed a push. Turns out they were right, as Baylan was pipelined, but I personally think this can be dangerous thinking. With only a dozen or so 100% newly tooled figures per year, we shouldn't take anything for granted.

Will Arleil Schous suffer the same fate this year? Will fans think that because a prototype has been developed that he's going to be released anyway? You'll have to tune in at 5PM ET this Saturday to find out.
