From the brief trailer for The Book Of Boba Fett combined with the stinger after the finale of The Mandalorian season 2, we know that Boba Fett will be attempting to fill the power vacuum created when Jabba the Hutt had the life choked out of him by Princess Leia. In an interview with Empire, Jon Favreau points on that this isn't necessarily Fett's particular bailiwick. Empire writes:
“Although Boba Fett is a very experienced bounty hunter, he’s not experienced at running a criminal syndicate or managing forces,” Favreau says. “He’s not normally a newcomer. He’s an expert as we see him in most areas. But in this case, he’s trying to transition to another position.” And since the trailer depicts Fett crunching skulls (shortly after declaring his intention to “rule with respect”), we can expect his actions to do a lot of the talking.
Hang on to that last part for a moment. The first part is interesting as it seems like Fett will start off as a fish out of water, and I dare say this will incorporate aspects of the "going into business" story model, but show runner Robert Rodriquez offers another interesting tidbit. Empire continues:
“We’ll see a lot more of his true character in this season,” promises Rodriguez, seen swinging some heavy weaponry above in a behind-the-scenes snap. “And you’ll definitely see him have to turn ‘barbarian mode’.”
If you combine that with all of the comments above, I feel the genre of The Book of Boba Fett is rounding into place. Star Wars has always been patterned on existing film genres from Westerns to Film Noir and everything in between. Putting all of this together, and it seems were getting something akin to a Star Wars:
