You may have overlooked comic and book related info with all the news coming out of SDCC from Hasbro about five inch Galaxy of Adventures and, I don’t know, what else was there; Pez dispensers or something? So here are some highlights...
The previously announced book Myths & Fables by George Mann will include nine stories and accompanying illustrations. I’m looking forward to this. Aside from comics, I have been getting all my SW books for Kindle, but this one will have to be a hardcopy in order to appreciate the illustrations.
A print version of Dooku: Jedi Lost will be released on 10/1/19. I listened to and reviewed the audiobook, and while the format may not be for me, I did enjoy the story.
IDW will be doing a follow up to their comic mini-series Star Wars Adventures: Tales From Vader’s Castle called Return to Vader’s Castle.
Charles Soule will be writing a 4 issue mini-series for Marvel called Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren. It is supposed to start in December and be completed prior to the release of the film. I assume this means it will be published weekly. I’m looking forward to this; Soule is one of the best writers to be involved with Marvel’s new Star Wars comics. It looks like we are going to get some Knights of Ren action in this one; and I’m also hoping for a glimpse (or more) of Ben’s training under Uncle Luke.
The “Journey to The Rise of Skywalker” publishing push will start in October. There’s a lot of stuff coming out. Based solely on covers and blurbs, I’m most looking forward to a YA novel called Force Collector and the comic mini-series Allegiance with art by Luke Ross.
Unfortunately, there was no information provided about the mysterious “Project Luminous” which will involve, among others, Claudia Gray & Charles Soule. I’m guessing it will be a collection of short stories. Whatever it is, it is set for release sometime in 2020.
Don’t forget, Thrawn: Treason is set for release this coming Tuesday (7/23/19)!! You can get it from our Sponsor, Amazon, HERE.
