Here's in the United States, Memorial Day is a holiday that is seen as the unofficial start of summer, and is often celebrated with cookouts and ice cold beer. But this holiday was created as a day of remembrance for the men and women who lost their lives in service to this country. So while you're enjoying the day off, please give thought to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice at the altar of freedom.
Also I will post our annual PSA about this holiday. Today is not the day to thank the veterans in your life. That's saved for Veteran's Day in November when a DD Form 214 will get you a free lunch at Applebees. Despite the car and mattress sales, the meaning of today is somewhat somber.
We will return to our normal content tomorrow. Thank you, and thank you to the Gold Star Families who gave more than anyone could possibly imagine.
