Now it’s time to do the same with the loooong overdue update to the Episode IV Luke Skywalker. This would be so far from a "one and done" affair; Hasbro could beat the tar out of the tooling if they wanted to.
1. Basic Carded Release
Obviously, it starts here, and I'm plunking down for two cases on day one (and I'll buy more if I see them in store). I will be out of control with this release.
2. Kenner Alt Card Release
Most people in the community collect carded product, and the demand for the Kenner "alt" cards has gone unmet. I'd get one or two. That gorgeous mock up above is courtesy of Mr. Miko. You can see the full sized image HERE.
3. Luke Skywalker (Tosche Station)
Give him a poncho, floppy hat, and macrobinoculars, which are all accessories that already exist, and you have Luke from the Tosche Station deleted scene. This would be a natural 2-pack with an update to the Academy Biggs. The entire upper body from that TAC Biggs figure could be reused, and marry it to some new legs.
It we be cool to get a publishing Luke Skywalker. Give him bright yellow hair, an all white costume with blue highlights, and a red saber, and you have a pretty good match to the Luke on the cover of Star Wars #1 from 1977. As with the Tosche Station version, this would make a natural 2-pack with a Marvel repainted Darth Vader. I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but if it were an exclusive, you could easily skip it if it's not you're bag.
As with the Snowtroope five, FIVE releases. Ah-Ah-Ah. That's not too shabby in the ROI department.
