HasLab Unicron Campaign Is Starting To Fall Behind The Barge

Unicron is just off the pace of the Sail Barge at the same point in their relative campaigns.

First of all, let me preface this by saying that this is NOT gloating from a Star Wars site over the fact that a non-Star Wars project isn't performing as well as the Star Wars project. Far from it. From a selfish stand point, any HasLab failure is bad for all collectors. We are all very much invested in the HasLab platform being an unmitigated success. Every win is good for us all. From a personal stand point as content creators, we feel pain when artistic creations go unrealized or unappreciated. I'm going to restate something I said during the Sail Barge campaign. It would be a sin against the creative universe if the massive effort that went into designing Unicron and the Cookie Monster goes to waste. An absolute sin. Unfortunately for the blue muppet, it's probably too late, but Unicron is very much in the game.

Today is the 9th day of the Unicron campaign. At roughly 4PM on the 9th day of the Sail Barge campaign, it reached 2,000 backers. How can we say this definitively? We made THIS POST celebrating the $1,000,000 in Sail Barge sales. At the time of the publication of this article (12:30 PM EST), Unicron sits at 1,829 backers, and it had 3 and a half hours to reach the same relative point in the Sail Barge campaign, but at the current pace it's safe to say it won't reach more than 1,850 backers by then. If it goes on a sharp climb, and this article looks ridiculous come 4PM, then...HUZZAH!

But all is not lost. That is less than 10% off the pace of the Barge, and Unicron needs roughly 10% less than the total number of backers that the Barge received. So at the current pace the project will make it in a photo finish. However, the Sail Barge got a major mid-campaign shot in the arm via the POTF Yak Face announcement. We don't know if Unicron will get the benefit of the same type of mid-campaign "sweetener." HasLab campaigns very much rely on grass roots marketing efforts from the FANS to make it happen. It's actually a huge part of the charm. It's a collaborative effort between company and customer. So to any of you who cross pollinate with Transformer circles, please do everything you can to promote Unicron. Share (and keep sharing) on social media. Spread the word far and wide. This mid-campaign time period is critical. The "FOMO" (fear of missing out) psychological mechanics in the final days of crowd funding campaigns only kick in if it looks like success is possible. So getting the Unicron campaign to within 50% of goal before the final week's push is critical.

For an idea on the type of grass roots marketing that is needed, here is a reminder of the campaign poster we made for the Sail Barge:
