First, we hope 2020 finds all of you happy and healthy. Second, we are now heading into new, frightening and unfamiliar Star Wars territory. 2020 marks the first year since 2014 where we will have no movie. That's hitting me a bit as I write this. It feels like the annual Star Wars movie, and the celebratory merchandizing launches were becoming a tradition. Those events marked the calendars for Star Wars fans. We must now prep for that void.
But 2020 is not without its lesser Star Wars holidays. In February, we get to look forward to Season 7 of The Clone Wars on Disney+. The streaming service also promises season 2 of The Mandalorian in the fall. I get the sense that if many were given the choice of only one, they'd take more Mando over a new movie. 2020 will also see the filming of the Obi-Wan and Cassian Andor series, so we can look forward to news coming from those productions.
Now, if Netflix can manage to squeeze season 4 of Stranger Things into December, the small screen will have truly made up for the lack of excitement at the big screen in 2020 (Black Widow withstanding).
