Nostalgia sells. From the 3.75" scale, to the double racetrack cards with blisters, to the aliens slinging blasters; these are some of the key components of this expression we know and love so well. From a "Finish the 96" campaign perspective, we’ve seen updated alien sculpts for Yakface (Saelt Marae), Klaatu, Bib Fortuna, and Tessek in TVC 2.0. All other OT Aliens are essentially repacks with updated hoods and/or accessories (Ewoks, Jawas). Let’s also give a shoutout to the Non-original 96er and Cantina denizen - VC249 Figrin D’an.
As stated in previous articles, OT aliens are few and far between in the line, so how can we get an updated Hammerhead (Momaw Nadon)? How can Hasbro get some mileage out of him, and make him a worthwhile investment while expanding the tooling library? First and foremost, Ithorians have been showing up in a lot of Star Wars media and in Disney theme parks. They’ve appeared in The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Bad Batch animated series. We also had Mok Shaiz as the mayor of Mos Espa in The Book of Boba Fett series as well as Dok-Ondar from Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge theme park. So I think it’s safe to say that there are plenty of options to leverage Ithorian tooling for other characters, but here’s how we could get some smart repacks out of our buddy Momaw, who hasn’t been updated since his The Saga Collection figure 17 years ago.
First and foremost release him on his O96 cardback. Don't include the cantina cup. This will eliminate the need for the "choking hazard" warning label and thus the iconic Hildebrandt logo won't be obscured. Shoutout to Corey Y. for suggesting this:

From here let’s bring back the 3 packs and check off another O96 Kenner item: The Special Action Figure Creature Set. Include a partially retooled Ponda Baba with a resized, larger head, and a repacked VTSC Greedo with a plastic molded vest. These three could even be in the "box in a box" format with unpunched cards, but I’d prefer the classic 3-pack to go along with all the other ones from TVC 1.0:

These three figures also make me nostalgic for THIS SCENE in E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. When E.T. becomes curious about Elliot's toys, Elliot starts showing off his action figures, the first three of which are Greedo, Hammerhead and Walrus Man.
We (SW The Vintage Collection FB Group, not Banthaskull) also asked this question during a Brand Team Q&A which seemed well received. It would be absolutely amazing to see an all new Hammerhead in the line. An alien design that has stood out for so many years, and who also needs a Cantina playset in which to display him and the many other scum and villainy as they knock back spirits and puff away at their hookahs while scheming underworld plots.
I’d love to hear all your thoughts on this and other smart repack ideas.
