It's been a pretty sweet week. People seem to be digging Skeleton Crew, we got the surprise TVC Heir to the Empire announcement, our Haslab Ghosts have FedEx shipping labels printed! So here's a boring way to end this week by sharing a quick admin note. As you know, Chris and I aren't big into the revenue-generating side of running this website. We've said it before, but we do this stuff solely for fun, and constantly scouring the internet for products and deals to post isn't our idea of fun. In no way, shape, or form are we critical of this practice. Most sites advertise, some more than others. There is definitely an opportunity to make some coin, but you have to work hard at it well beyond just writing fun discussion pieces and taking pictures of toys. Neither Chris nor I have ever had much interest in putting the time or effort into this sort of thing.
We do occasionally provide links to Entertainment Earth, which has been one of our main partners over the years, as well as Gamestop (which we rarely use because opportunities are few and far between). We also have commission-generating links via Google (which is more passive) and eBay (which is at the bottom of almost every review/gallery we post). All in all, we aren't exactly paying off our home mortgages with this, but these links do well enough to cover the behind the scenes overhead for keeping the site up and running - most of which is handled by Chris.
Anyway, all this is to say that we've recently succeeded in restarting our affiliation with Amazon (yay), so we can occasionally share links for that site as well. As such, just to kick that off, I'll post a link to Amazon and EE today.
Please don't feel any obligation to use the links above, or any time we post them. You may have other sites that you prefer to go to when clicking sales links - and that's all good with us. But if you're in the mood, feel free to use our links whenever you like. It helps not only pay for the site and our equipment, but also allows us to do giveaways, like we did with the Razor Crest once upon a time. And a while back, I think we gave away a slightly used spatula. You just never know.
Besides babbling for the last few paragraphs, this was also meant to provide a fresh page for Friday morning, so please make up for the lack of creativity on my part today.
