I'm going to give one more warning about spoilers before diving in. If you didn't see Episode 6 for Ahsoka, and still want to go in fresh, turn back now. This discussion will cover some of that episode.
Okay, you're still here which means you've already seen Far, Far Away or you don't care. If you're in the latter camp, I don't care that you don't care, so there's no need to point it out in the comments. If you did watch, your "I want that" alarm probably went off the second you saw Thrawn's Night Troopers on screen:
It appears that a Night Trooper figure could be achieved as a repaint of the VC231 - Stormtrooper figure, but it wouldn't suit itself to a single carded release because Night Troopers markings vary. Getting a single deco for the Night Troopers would be as insane as releasing a single Knight of Ren. Right? Multiple different on-screen representations that can be achieved without any new tooling is so perfectly aligned with Hasbro's troop builder format that I would sign on to a conspiracy theory that Disney introduced this new trooper for that exact purpose.
If Hasbro does go down this road of making a Night Trooper army builder pack, I have a word of caution. There is a unique leader of the army called Enoch who sports a gold mask in the middle of his Stormtrooper helmet:
In some past troop builder packs, Hasbro has included a unique officer or leader figure. A army builder pack that contains a unique character is not an army builder pack. I would buy so many more of the 212th Clone Trooper pack if it didn't include the unique Waxer. I have no interest in accumulating one Waxer figure for every three 212th clones I get. I worry that if Hasbro decides to make a Night Trooper pack, Enoch would be included. Enoch would make more sense as a single carded figure, and any Night Trooper army builder pack should simply have four uniquely decoed troopers.
