At San Diego Comic Con 2018, Hasbro announced that they would be re-releasing the 30th Anniversary Collection Darth Revan in the Vintage Collection. Either at the same time, or shortly thereafter, we learned it would be numbered VC150. Sequentially, this is the next figure to be released. At the time of this article, VC01 - VC149 have been released. The Darth Revan figure was slated for released this fall. Via THIS REPORT on Rebelscum from SDCC '19, we learned that the Darth Revan figure will not be released this year, and there is the potential, but no commitment, that it could see release next year.
So where does that leave us with the next number in the collection, VC150?
The most obvious answer is that it will sit in limbo unitl Darth Revan eventually gets released. This happened with the figures in the Dr. Evazan wave in 2011. They were delayed until 2012, and there was a gap in the numbered sequence until they were released.
An even more frightening possibility is that the number goes unused in perpetuity like "BD24" from the 2008 TLC Red Phase. That was slated to be a re-release of the 2008 TLC Blue Phase General Grevious figure. It was cancelled, and the collection number BD24 was skipped entirely. This is a nightmare for the obsessive compulsive collector.
I would like to propose a third option. Use VC150 to release the Jedi Knight Luke from the SDCC '19 exclusive Jedi Destiny Set. This would accomplish much. It would put Luke Skywalker on a milestone collection number (Vader should have been VC100 instead of Starkiller). [Editor's Note: And what's the deal with Dengar being VC01? I will never get over this.] It would get that AWESOME figure out to collectors while the contemporary Skiff / Sail Barge products are shipping, and it would finally cross off the true Kenner Jedi Knight Luke in the Vintage Collection. Of course, the "fall" product is almost assuredly already produced, so this isn't a particularly actionable suggestion, as it's too late. It's more of a wish that Hasbro has already realized this opportunity. Failing that, perhaps a VC150 Jedi Knight Luke can be snuck into one of the early 2020 waves.
