BREAKING:  HASLAB Razor Crest BACKED!

Despite suffering technical issues that hampered the availability of the ordering page during the first few hours following the official reveal, the HasLab Vintage Collection Razor Crest was enthusiastically received by the community, and successfully funded in a little over a day.

No need for any campaigning from fan sites and social media pages for this one! Man, we went through some rollercoaster of a campaign to help get the Khetanna funded. This time collectors were prepared and ready for the announcement. Unlike the Sail Barge, this didn't shock the community. Much of the uncertainty surrounding HasLab dissipated with several other successful campaigns already in the rear view mirror. We were ready for this, and it certainly didn't hurt that this was the worst kept secret in recent memory.

It took over three weeks for the Khetanna to reach the halfway point towards its funding goal of 5000. The Razor Crest achieved its halfway mark (3000) in about 5 hours. It reached 4000 in about 9 hours. It reached 4800 (80%) in about 22 hours. And approximately 28 hours after being announced, it achieved its funding goal!

What's next? Well, it's got over 44 days to hit the tier unlocks at 8000 and 10,000 backers. What are they? It's already time to speculate!

EDITOR'S NOTE: The instant the project was funded, Tier 1 was revealed to be an Escape Pod. So we can only speculate on Tier 2....

An additional figure seems to be the most desired bonus. Just like the Khetanna's Yakface or the already revealed Beskar Mandalorian, the included figures were planned to be available in the main line, so it required no new tooling. Would the same rule apply for a bonus tier figure here? Probably.

Did you notice during the deep dive video that they touted the opening weapons locker, but only mentioned in passing that the carbon chamber existed and did not show it had a working door? That could have been Hasbro holding that feature close to the vest. A safe bet for a tier would be something like carbonite block(s) for the cargo hold. It would stand to reason that you'd want to use it on something other than your existing Han Solo or Jar Jar blocks to interact with the on-board freezing chamber. It looks like there were initially three that we could see on screen. A rodian, a female human(oid), and a male human(oid).

That leaves a fourth block: Mithrol. But just the block? That would be kind of a disappointment. A Mithrol figure would be a cool option. Obviously a totally new sculpt would need to be engineered, so it would need to be marketable as a standalone mainline figure. It could work, and the character is about as directly connected to the Razor Crest as you can get. He certainly should come with handcuffs either way, but maybe a Mithrol carbonite block would serve as the exclusive accessory. And as a super cool option, how about an exclusive Mithrol hologram "bounty puck" accessory?

I know I wasn't the only one to see that there could possibly be a missing knob on the control stick in the Razor Crest's cockpit. Could it be an exclusive accessory included with a Child figure that is already planned in the line somehow? Yakface came with an "exclusive" drinking glass in the package that was not available with the mainline figure, so this seems possible.



How about Off World Jawas? The ship even comes with the Jawa scrapping feature (awesome!), so including the little scavenger also seems plausible. It's an easy repaint. Include an exclusive golden egg, and maybe you've got something that could otherwise be released in the main line.

And the last thing I'll suggest would be an alternate Mandalorian figure. There would need to be some minor retooling here, but this might be a chance to give us the version of Din Djarin with only the right shoulder beskar armor upgrade that he acquired using his reward from Mithrol's bounty. Back in the day, we used to get even the slightest variations in the wardrobe of the main characters. We need this one.

Anyway, we're probably not going to have a whole lot of time to speculate, so might as well give it a go. Let us know what you'd like to see. And the first person that writes "a second Razor Crest" as the tier unlock shall immediately be mocked.
