Paul Dye can be found on Instagram as wampa_patrol. He allowed us to share some of his photography and a bit about himself here.
Hi, I'm Paul, and I live by the sea in England with my girlfriend and dogs.
My Star Wars obsession began in 1978, when I saw the film twice in the cinema. Xmas that year also saw a haul of toys for me and my little brother (including the amazing Palitoy cardboard Death Star) that has since passed into family legend.

As happened with so many seventies kids, the toys ended up being given away a few years later. The only figure I have left is my beloved cloth-caped Jawa.

The mid nineties saw the release of the POTF2 line and a house purchase, so I made the spare bedroom into a dedicated collection room, and slowly amassed every 3.75" Original Trilogy figure, vehicle and playset released.

I regretfully ended up selling everything in the late noughties, but started again a few years later, at a hugely reduced cost compared to the first time around, thanks to the modern wonder of buying used stuff, often in job lots, on eBay. My new Original Trilogy collection is now in a dedicated room again (that doubles as a music/photo/video studio) and is far better than it was first time around.

Guess We Could Hotwire This Thing?
Having long been a keen photographer, I decided to try taking toy diorama pics at the end of 2018. My first attempts were pretty bad, but I am slowly honing my efforts and starting to take shots I actually like.

So far my pics seem to be pretty bright and colourful, and just look like a bloke having fun with his toys. I'd love them to be gritty and realistic (like so many of the toy shooters I admire) but don't have the necessary skills right now. Hopefully I'll get a bit better as time goes on.

Cheers to Bret for getting in touch and asking me to submit some stuff for the site. I've only been doing this a few months, so am honoured to be in such good company!
Many thanks to Paul for sharing all of this with us!
