2019 Manga Barcelona Hasbro Star Wars Panel Reveals

Yesterday, Hasbro's press release indicated these were "accessibility" releases (i.e. meant for those that didn't have a chance at them the first time they were out):

These STAR WARS: THE VINTAGE COLLECTION figures are re-releases of some of our best main characters from the past for the global and newer fans to THE VINTAGE COLLECTION.

Ensuring accessibility to the entire catalog for any toy/collectible line is CRITICAL and the lack thereof has sunk two toy lines in the past (Masters of the Universe and the Playmates Simpsons line). It's a necessary thing especially for main characters. In the era of the of the online secondary market (Ebay, Amazon storefronts, etc.) this primary market accessibility concept isn't as critical unless those secondary market prices start to generate a premium. That is the case with all four figures seen here. Maul carries the smallest premium at around $20. Anakin ($40) and Wicket ($30) carry steeper premiums while the Clone Wars Obi-Wan rakes in triple digits thanks to its inclusion in the online only wave 12.

If you're a reader of this site (i.e. a long time collector) these re-releases likely have little interest to you, but they can greatly benefit the hobby (and thus you). Accessibility releases such as these allow the hobby to engage "new blood" which is critical for keeping it going. The hobby loses collectors every day, and we need to replace them. Giving collectors who came into the hobby post 2012 retail access to costly older figures is a great way to do that.
