Here’s one of the nicest sets of the entire run.  You get the debut of a named background Jedi that actually had a brief but notable moment of screen time in Attack of the Clones along with a variant of the best Dooku figure available today.

Nicanas Tassu can be seen briefly, along with Sephjet Josall, tossing spare lightsabers to the tee-mounted Anakin and Obi-Wan right after the Jedi Strike Team charged and met the droid army in the arena.  I always thought it was funny that they carried spare lightsabers, but whatever.  All part of the plan, I guess.  Tassu was never seen again, and we can only presume he was killed during battle at a moment when he really needed his spare lightsaber.  Nevertheless, it’s a small thrill to get a debut figure of a character that had a bit of screen time.  Tassu is a repaint of an existing body, along with an all new head sculpt.  The figure comes with a soft good Jedi robe, and his own lightsaber.  He’s posable from the waist up, as once again, Hasbro gave this figure a hard plastic lower tunic, which renders the existing lower body joints useless.  Otherwise, it’s a great looking figure and a nice addition to the line.

The companion figure is Count Dooku.  This one uses the excellent base mold from the ROTS Sith Evolutions set, but this time he’s got a new head sculpt.  The main difference here is that this is a kinder, gentler looking Dooku, whereas the original figure from the Evolutions set looks angrier.  For the most part, Dooku seems to have this kinder face throughout AOTC, with only a few exceptions.  Even when he’s trash talking Mace Windu and sentencing people to die, he looks like a nice guy doing it.  So in my mind, this is a better Dooku, and more useful/accurate than the previous release.  It’s a slight difference, but very much worth noting.  Dooku comes with a well-crafted soft goods cape, and an ignited lightsaber.

So you get an all new named background human Jedi who can be seen clearly in the film, and you get a minor, but welcome, improvement to an outstanding Count Dooku figure.  This set is a winner.  Sadly, that translates to exorbitant Ebay costs, so if you’re on the hunt, tread carefully.
