Speculation is swirling like the mists of Dagobah around newcomer Maisie Richardson-Sellers. Several sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that she is in line to nab an undisclosed and possibly major role in the high-profile Disney/Lucasfilm production.

It appears that Dominic Monaghan, who played Charlie in the ABC series Lost, may end up with a lightsaber in his hand for the next Star Wars flick.

Episode 7 has already begun filming and most of the cast is now in place for the movie, Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn revealed April 2.

England, Iceland and now Morocco?  I don’t think clandestine intelligence agencies float out this much (mis)information.  It is now being reported that Episode VII principal photography will begin on May 14th in Morocco.

Okay Browncoats, breathe.  Breathe.  The site MovieViral is reporting that Captain Malcolm Reynolds himself is in talks for Episode VII and points out a pretty huge Easter Egg that J.J. Abrams dropped to that affect.

Update: My mother’s birthday is today, so for that reason, I never remember that it’s April Fools day.

We earlier shared an article that said one of the locations used for Episode VII will be Iceland.  The site Cinema Blend takes this once step further and suggest that this means a return to Hoth for Episode VII (Norway was used for the Hoth shoots in Episode V). 

I’ve been pretty passionate that Episode VII should feature Hoth at some point for one reason.  The PT and OT seemed fairly disconnected.  A desolate abandoned sub-zero Hoth would still bear the scars of the Battle of Hoth some 33 years later.  Showing a burnt out AT-AT carcass and perhaps the disabled remains of the Bright Hope hanging in orbit would go a long way toward rooting the Sequel Trilogy in the same galaxy as the not so distant events of the Original Trilogy.

True to the production team’s word of using real world locations instead of the unnatural CGI environments of the Prequel Trilogy, a production crew for Star Wars Episode VII will visit Iceland next month to take “plate shots.”

According to the Huffington Post, Lupita Nyong’o, who recently won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for ‘12 Years a Slave’, met with J.J. Abrams about potentially playing an offspring of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

You know we have to post this one, right?  While at SXSW promoting his new film Chef, our favorite celebrity, Jon Favreau, tells MTV that he would have directed Episode VII if asked.

While using the annoying and all-to-frequent caveat “while no deal is done yet”, Variety states definitively that Girls actor, Adam Driver, will be the villain in Episode VII in the vein of Darth Vader.  I like Driver as an actor.  I like Darth Vader. Lets make this picture!

I try not to flood the front page here with the incessant Episode VII rumors that flood my inbox.  Especially ones like this that seem to be on the perpetual rumor / denial / rumor / denial loop.  Nevertheless, there appears to be heat to the combined Cumberbatch and Oldman rumors again.  This time from a well placed source. Due to the magnitude of those actors, I’m sharing the story.  Again.

The site Hit Flix is reporting that Star Wars Episode VII will shoot from May through September and that the principal casting is complete.  The fact that principal casting is complete is a bit of a surprise since no confirmations have been made directly by the production team.

Gary Oldman confirmed to Sky Movies that he has been approached for a role in Episode VII.

There is a report on Yahoo UK that visual effects guru, Phil Tippett, who worked on both Episodes IV and V, may be returning to the Star Wars franchise to work on Episode VII.  When are the Marcia Lucas rumors going to start swirling?
