Jaxxon is Back…And in Canon!

Star Wars comic fans were recently treated to the return of one of the most beloved and hated characters in the history of the franchise. In IDW’s Star Wars Adventures Annual 2018, the story "The Lost Eggs of Livorno" marked the official return of Jaxxon to the Galaxy far, far away.

In the story, Jaxxon is hired to smuggle the eggs of a sentient species that the Empire has hunted to near extinction and get them to Princess Leia to protect because apparently she has time for that, too. The usual hi-jinks ensue when Jaxxon is double-crossed by Amaiza Foxtrain (another refugee from the very early Marvel years) who switches out the real eggs for some flying reptiles. Despite this, Jaxxon manages to get the eggs safely delivered. Actually he doesn’t, because A) they get broken and B) they were actually decoy eggs so that Han could safely smuggle the real eggs. It is made quite clear that Jaxxon and Han know each other, and the planet Aduba 3 is also mentioned; so, apparently that whole thing happened.

Now eagle-eyed viewers of the Forces of Destiny episode "Bounty Hunted" and the third issue of The Force Awakens comic adaptation may have already noted the presence of a vaguely humanoid rabbit. But, this is the real deal. Jaxxon is in full effect, kicking folks in the chest and employing his charming patois. What do you think? Will we see more of Jaxxon? Does anybody really want to?
