Set 3 of 6 is similar in execution to the 1 of 6 set with Obi-Wan and Super Battle Droid.  It pairs an updated version of a main hero, along with a separatist droid (without any significant updates).

The Anakin Skywalker is from the 2005 ROTS Evolutions set.  It was quite nice for 2005, but the lack of articulation was definitley showing its age by 2010.  For whatever reason, the ankles are not articulated.  That, of course, renders the knees and hips nearly useless.  Otherwise, it’s a nice figure.  Hasbro added a new head sculpt, just like they did for the aforementioned Obi-Wan figure in Set 1 of 6.  The hair is darker (the original was almost blonde) and the paint apps are slightly different.  Most notably, the “pleather” tunic is cut much shorter, and definitely looks better. Anakin comes with a lightsaber as the lone accessory in the set.

The Droideka is nothing new.  It’s a good sculpt, with a nice paint job.  The articulation is, as is always the case with the character, underwhelming.  And for the millionth time, Hasbro needs to work on the transforming version.  C’MON!

It’s not the most exciting set, and the lack of ankles in the Anakin figure is a disappointment.  Still, it was a pretty good deal for $12.99 at the time.  Ebay prices are very reasonable (if you can find a set).
