This June, Serenity and Firefly fans can look forward to yet another comic book story featuring their favorite ‘Verse. But not only is this comic book special for being the first story to take place after the film, Serenity, it’s also being penned by one of the biggest sarcastic comedic voices nerds and dorks can call one of their own.
Patton Oswalt, who was featured in an episode of Firefly creator Joss Whedon’s latest television effort, Dollhouse, wrote the story after a successful pitch to Whedon. Details are slightly scarce, especially considering which, if any, of Serenity’s original crew will be appearing. Given Oswalt’s voice though, it’s possible the story will be even funnier than the average Firefly episode. What is known is that the plot focuses on a group of Wash’s friends who get together to christen a new ship, and their discussions about Wash may actually lead to a whole new adventure.
