The Amazing Parallels Between Episodes III And VI

The fist six episodes of Star Wars eventually became the story of Anakin Skywalker even though that was never the original intent. If you look at it that way, Episode 1 starts at the twelve position using the 360° clock designation, and Episode VI concludes at the twelve, with Episodes III and IV holding the reverse positions at the six. As such, there is going to be mirroring between the respective counterparts. But it appears this goes a bit deeper with Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi. Mirrored scenes sync up to almost the second. Express UK writes:

In the process, several key moments sync up perfectly - and, presumably, completely accidentally.

Most notably, towards the end of the films, a moment of Obi-Wan talking to Anakin as he finally succumbs to the Dark Side aligns precisely with Luke talking to him in Return of the Jedi just as he rises back to the light - moments before his death.

And as Anakin dies in Return of the Jedi, it’s the exact same point in the running-time as him getting consumed by flames in Revenge of the Sith - effectively the ‘death’ of Anakin as we knew him before becoming Darth Vader.

The accidental parts feels like it strains credulity. Having mirrored scenes appear at nearly the exact running time of the respective films feels like an intentional decision. You can judge for yourself here by watching all six films simultaneously:
