According to Deadspin, Michael Kenneth Williams, known for his roles in The Night Of, Assassin's Creed, and possibly the greatest show in the history of television, The Wire, has been cut from the Han Solo Film.
This is reported to be the result of re-shoots necessary since Ron Howard took over the project. Williams stated that he has other projects on his schedule that precluded him from being able to partake in the re-shoots. He said he played a human/animal hybrid character, and he was very proud of what he accomplished with it.
While it seems we may not see this character in this film, Williams says:
I don’t think that me not being in the Star Wars family is final. I left with a very good taste in my mouth about the whole family, and I hope that I left a good taste in their mouth. They’re a great group of people, the Lucas family.
As a huge fan of Omar, this is a major disappointment. Hopefully his comments are true, and he's not done with Star Wars.
