BREAKING: Target Now Using Unique DPCI’s for Individual TVC Figures?

UPDATE: Some clarification is provided by long-time friend Chuck, in the comments...

Chris sends images from a visit to his local Target store. Besides finding some discounts on TLJ Force Link 1.0 items, he also scanned a few TVC figures that were in stock, and noticed that the figures were different prices, and showed up on the scanner with different DPCI codes!

Does this mean that Target is moving to a new ordering system for TVC figures in which they get individual figures, and/or is Hasbro preparing to ship figures by solid case? If this is a real thing going forward, it could very well mean a solution to pegwarming, and the end of forced case assortments. This is possibly one of the biggest breakthroughs on distribution front in, like, ever. Hasbro specifically mentioned distribution in their presentation, and it's very possible this is a direct indication of the effort to correct some of the problems that have plagued the line since the beginning.

We've reached out to Hasbro for comment and verification. It's certainly possible we're interpreting this incorrectly, or that it's a Target initiative rather than anything on Hasbro's end. We'll keep you posted if we find out anything else concrete.
