This is something my cohort here at Bantha Skull has been campaigning for. I would have personally preferred a box of chairs if we were to ever get a cool world building set like this. There is a paucity of sitting in our displays. Mr. Nomadscout wins this one, but I'll be back! This set unlocks all the fun of boxes. You can stack them. Your figures can store their whatnots in them. You can stack them. You figures can pop a squat on them...ohhhhh, now I see. Well played, Mr. Nomadscout. Sadly, these boxes lack the articulation to be folded flat, so an iconic box pose can't be achieved. It's another example of the Vintage Collection being eaten away at the margins. I bet the inevitable Black Series boxes will be able to fold flat. #BoxesNeedElbows.
There's one more thing that we all need boxes for: shipping. In that spirit, this set will be exclusive to the UPS Store at a price of $39.99 with a spring 2025 release. There's an ironic twist to this. At this time, UPS has no plans to make the Vintage Collection Box of Boxes available online. This will strictly be an in-store item. You read that correctly. The shipping company will not be shipping this Vintage Collection exclusive to your home. What the heck is going on? Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... MASS HYSTERIA!
I feel like this is a case of the universe laughing at me because I recently wrote that the prevalence of online sales has all but eliminated the ability of scalpers to corner the market. But with this being in-store only, it's going to be a nightmare to track down. I hope the UPS Store realizes what they've done. They should have consulted with Walgreens before taking on a Star Wars exclusive. The van guys are coming. I would personally like to get four of these sets, but I don't like my chances. I may need to reach out to the community for a helping hand on this one.
