If you’ve seen our review of the Jyn Erso in Imperial Ground Crew disguise, then you don’t really need to see much here. It’s essentially the same figure, with a few minor differences. This one has no removable helmet, it has black gloves and boots instead of brown, and, most oddly, the chest armor on this figure is black all over, while the chest armor on the Jyn figure is two-tone, with her left side being gray. I don’t know if this was done on purpose to indicate some kind of rank or position within the Ground Crew Corps, or if it was an unintentional paint application goof. I actually didn’t even notice it until I was writing this review and looked at the side by side shot.
Since Jyn’s helmet is not oversized, as many buckets are, it looks the same as this figure when it’s over Jyn’s head. If you wanted to army build this character, you could do so with the Jyn figure. That one is superior because of the removable helmet option.
That said, unless you’re a completist and need to own this figure outright, the real selling point here, if you’re into it, is the accessory. It’s a neat looking jet pack with extendable wings. It has no value from a film perspective, but is pretty well executed nonetheless. The Jyn figure comes with a rocket launcher, which seems to be Hasbro’s fallback option for a kid-friendly accessory.
I’m giving this figure a 4, as opposed to the 5 I gave the Jyn figure, because this one is less versatile. However, the accessory is pretty neat, so keep that in mind.
