Breha Organa was the Queen of Alderaan.  She was related to senator Bail Antilles, who was eventually succeeded in that position by Bail Organa, her husband.  While a young princess, Breha was badly injured during a type of “trial” in order to prove worthiness to be the queen.  The injuries made her unable to give birth.  Breha and Bail later adopted Leia after Padme’s death, because they wanted no part of some stupid baby boy.  Breha’s only scene of course, is at the very end of ROTS where she and Bail sit on their balcony and hold baby Leia in their arms.  Breha raised Leia to respect peace and education.  The Organas worked secretly to help support the opposition network which would eventually evolve into the Alliance to Restore the Republic.  Besides appearing in several other publications, Breha was the central figure in “Eclipse”, one of the short stories in the very good From a Certain Point of View.  Breha waited for Bail to return to her after the Imperial Senate was dissolved.  After they were reunited, they did everything within their power to find information about the Tantive IV and their daughter.  Before they could get any news, the Death Star arrived and eclipsed the sun.  Just prior to their deaths, they embraced, and both knew that Leia must be alive if the Emperor was exacting revenge on Alderaan.

Breha Organa makes for a fairly nice looking figure.  The dress is sculpted with a really well done amount of intricate detail and texture.  Even the paint pattern gives off a shimmering effect.  The sleeves look like they have hash marks down their length, but if you look at the character image, the sleeves are actually puffy and have vents that reveal the arms underneath.  Hasbro probably could do a bit better with this detail today, but it’s not a big loss.  She is super articulated from the waist up.  From the waist down - nothing.  Her legs are hidden under the skirt, but do not have any joints whatsoever.  Your sample may have a little trouble standing if her feet are warped in any way, which mine are at this point in time.  The face sculpt makes her look very pretty, although you might say not too much like the actress.  She doesn’t come with any accessories, but this makes sense.  The only thing they might have included would be the baby Leia accessory that came with some Bail Organa figures (interestingly, not the one in the image which is the appropriate outfit)

This is a first (and likely only) action figure for this character, so that automatically gives it points in my book.  I’m almost always a fan of “first timers” over resculpts.  As with her husband’s figure that we reviewed yesterday, it’s certainly not the most exciting release, but it was necessary.  At this point in the line, we had pretty much everyone else that was part of the known Skywalker family in the films.  She was the last figure from Hasbro which allowed us to complete that subset.  So now we have Shmi, Anakin, Padmé, Owen, Beru, Bail, and finally Breha.  Done.  Oh, except we need new figures of ANH Owen and Beru.  Then we’re done.  That’s all we need.  And this lamp.  (And Cliegg Lars!  Totally forgot about him!)

It’s nice to look at, it’s a new figure, it’s from the movies.  Not much action here, but if you make dioramas, and are looking to have all characters from the movies immortalized in plastic, this figure is for you.  Although there is about zero chance of a re-do (and we’re not recommending Hasbro take any action) it might make sense to try a soft goods skirt with articulated legs, because guess what:  SHE IS SITTING THE ENTIRE TIME SHE IS ON SCREEN!  Anyway, it gets a 6/10.
