Han Solo had the Millennium Falcon.  Darth Maul had the Scimitar.  Din Djarin had the Razor Crest.  Many of the main characters throughout the Saga had their signature ride.  And Grogu is no exception.  He’s got his pram.  It seems Baby Yoda/The Child/Grogu is seen on screen almost as much in his pram as he is out of it.  His luck seems to match that of another main character, Poe Dameron.  Like Poe, Grogu seems to have bad luck maintaining is sweet ride.

Din Djarin first tracked his quarry and found The Asset in a pram in the premier episode of The Mandalorian.  That pram served until after Din turned over the bounty to The Client.  After Din decided to go back and retrieve The Child, he found the discarded pram in an alley.  A few episodes later, Kuill decided to fashion a new pram out of metal.  This new pram lasted until Season 2, when it was smashed by a sea beast’s jaws and then ripped open by Koska Reeves during her rescue of The Child.  Starting with season 3, Grogu was in his latest ride, although it is not explained on screen that Din decided to go to Buy Buy Baby Yoda and get a new pram.

Hasbro has now given us all 3 prams in 3.75” scale, so in a way, we can say we’ve “completed the crew” here.  The original pram was offered as an accessory on a basic card as VC184 The Child.  Later, Kuiil’s pram was included with the exclusive carded HAS001 Grogu (The Razor Crest) [even though the name “Grogu” wasn’t revealed until after that pram was destroyed].  And now we have the season 3 pram as VC313.

As with the previous variants of the pram, this one is an accessory to Grogu, but it’s really the star of the show.  We’ve gotten 47 releases of Grogu at this point, so there isn’t a whole lot of newness to figure itself. This one was previously released as part of the deluxe Ahsoka Tano and Grogu set.  The only notable difference as the underside of the figure has the copyright info sculpted in, as well as a silver date stamp.  The first release had neither.  Aside from that, the figures appear identical.  The head is articulated with a ball jointed neck that turns fully, but otherwise has limited range of vertical motion.  There is no other articulation.  He’s cute, but you’ve seen it before.

The pram is nicely executed.  Just like the other two prams, this one has a clear stand that attaches to the bottom, and is removable.  The cover is not articulated, but comes in 3 parts so you can simulate it being in various stages of open or closed.  The closed version makes it look a bit like a beach ball.  This pram is round, while the previous two were roughly egg shaped.  Everything is nicely sculpted and painted, with a fair amount of detail on the inside.  Unlike both predecessors, this one does not come with a snugly blanket.  Apparently Grogu outgrew his Wubby by the time season 3 rolled around.  He fits nicely inside, looking like a boss.  He also can be inside when the cover is fully closed.  The whole thing kind of reminds me of a Kinder Surprise Egg, which I guess they don’t sell in the US because of child safety issues, but are popular outside the country.

This is a decent addition to our collections, and probably something that would be asked for over time if we didn’t get it here.  It’s not the most exciting figure/accessory, but it’s nice to add to the shelf.  This figure is part of a wave of TVC figures that is mostly repaints/retools (with the exception of VC311 Professor Huyang.  While that figure was all new, it ended up being a disappointment due to several perceived shortcuts taken by Hasbro.  Still, it’s usually not a great thing when the figure is not star of the package.  I’ll give it a 7/10.
