I don’t know if this guy has a name.  It seems like he should.  The old EU named everyone.  This guy is clearly an officer (with standard longcoat).  He shows up in the hangar alongside Leia when she comes to wish Luke luck.  I don’t know that he appears in either of the other hangar scenes, but it’s possible he’s there in the return celebration.

Of all the Rebel Officers on Yavin that could be given action figure attention, this guy is pretty low.  He’s just a guy.  No real distinguishing features.  No lines.  No impact on the story.  His lack of a name is probably the final nail in his coffin.  But here’s the thing.  This is Alan Harris!  Warwick Davis may have him beat, but Alan Harris is right up there in terms of total number of Star Wars characters portrayed- most notably Bossk and Bespin Security Guard Merril in ESB.  If Hasbro wants to honor one of the “men behind the masks,” Merril is probably a better choice, but this guy could suffice.
