Sergeant Merril is remembered for two things.  Helping to push frozen Han Solo down the hall, and leaning against a wall while Lando and company walked past.  As is bound to happen these two things have developed into an EU backstory involving fighting on the wrong side of the Clone Wars and being a troublemaker in Cloud City.  I prefer to think that he was just lazy. 

As far as action figure prospects, Merril’s got two things going for him.  His white hair is a little distinct and makes him more noticeable on screen than many of his Bespin Guard colleagues.  And he’s played by Alan Harris, who also played Bossk and apparently also showed up as a Rebel officer on Yavin.  If Hasbro really wants to make some more Bespin Guards, Merril might not be the best choice, but he’s not the worst either.
