As you know, it maybe a final opportunity to be heard and show your enthusiasm for the line, so vote!
Last night an Ebay seller by the name of tigertoys07 sold off the entire Vintage Collection via individual auctions. The results frankly have my jaw on the floor. Keep in mind that these are all well preserved unpunched carded figures which will always command a premium, and also serves as a reminder of the value of a well curated collection. Throwing figures in a Rubber Maid bin is causing them to lose value by the minute. Keeping your desirable figures in Star Cases in a cool dry place away from sunlight can be rewarding in many ways. Anyway, click through for some of the shockingly high final prices.
I frequently check completed auctions on Ebay to see if anything is starting to creep up in value. Due to its limited release and on-line only availability, the Vintage Collection Emperor’s Royal Guard has always fetched a premium, but when an Emperor's Royal Guard recently sold for $85, I was shocked. Admittedly the final prices are typically in the mid $50 range, but this recent auction could start pushing the value. Time to get this figure back on the market, Hasbro.
Every good reset (see post below) is preceded by a cleansing clearance. And with that, the Toys R Us exclusive Vintage Collection X-Wing Fighter (Red 2) is on clearance for $39.98 down from $59.99. Yes, that is my thumb in the upper left. If you want the full sized image, hit the read more link.
As you know by now, there are five Vintage Collection figures that either have been or will be re-released in the Black Series, but today we ask “where the heck is Ponda Baba?” and we also provide some basic supply side analysis.
An Ebay seller has just listed a near complete set of unpunched Vintage Collection figures. Naturally the wave 1 and 2 figures are punched. The only figures missing from the collection are VC12 - Darth Sidious, VC61 - Boba Fett (Prototype Armor), VC66 - Salacious Crumb and VC67 - Mouse Droid. The seller says most of the figures are case fresh. Wow.
I’m always looking to fill in holes in my Vintage Collection carded collection (unpunched of course). I stumbled across Ebay seller landbaronus who had several items that I currently need. I’m personally shocked to see what the secondary market for these figures is with Kit Fisto taking the top spot at $51 with 9 hours to go. There is no question that the Vintage Collection has enormous collector viability. Unfortunately Hasbro can’t turn that into big box retail viability (and maybe no one can).
Here’s another packaging variation that is truly rare in the modern line. The good news for 99.9% of you is that you don’t care. The bad news for the 0.01% of you with borderline psychosis is that if you want it, you’ll probably never be able to get your hands on it.
We never tire of the Vintage Collection do we? Today we have a special report on some Vintage Collection items that are truly rare. But there’s an outstanding chance you don’t care unless you’re obsessive like me.
