Launch waves have haunted Hasbro for over a decade now. Black Series 6" launch wave product from 2016's Rogue One Force Friday still sits dust covered at my local Walmart for $5.00. These waves tend to be over ordered. When it was learned that the re-launch wave for The Vintage Collection would be primarily repacks, fans ranged from nervous to outright panicked. If shipped too heavily, the line would be dead from the start. An indicator on Hasbro Toy Shop says Hasbro might have figured it out.
The listing for the four "one per case" figures (Rey, Kylo Ren, Hoth Rebel Soldier and Jyn) are no longer active. Only the two per case Snoke and First Order Stormtrooper listings are still active (and in stock). If this means wave one is out of the pipeline, this is great news. It feels like traditional retail has had its demand satisfied for these figures. It should be noted that all 6 characters are available in solid cases for wholesale accounts, so there is little worry about an individual figure failing to meet collector demand.
If this isn't a glitch, which we can't rule out, and Hasbro is already moving onto production of wave 2, we have a lot of reason to be excited about the future of The Vintage Collection.
